Can't install Kali Linux from USB, fails to find CD-ROM drive

  1. open a shell 
  2. create the directory cdrom directly on the root of the file system
    1. mkdir /cdrom
  3. mount the USB as if it is a CD ROM
    1. mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /cdrom
